ABOUT ME

Since 2014, I’ve been passionate about supporting individuals and organizations through meaningful change. I believe life is too short to feel stuck, uncertain, or misaligned, and that thoughtful reflection, paired with intentional action, can lead to lasting growth and well-being.

I’m Dr. Kymberly Akouris, PhD, and my work as a transformational coach is grounded in evidence-based practice, adult development, and real-world leadership experience. I hold a doctorate in Human Development from Fielding Graduate University, with a concentration in Evidence-Based Coaching. My doctoral research focused on well-being coaching, exploring how the basic psychological needs of autonomy, competence, and relatedness support adults navigating life hardships and transitions. This research continues to inform how I partner with clients today.

Before moving fully into coaching and consulting, I held senior leadership roles in private post-secondary education, including Corporate Director of Financial Aid and Campus President. These roles shaped my understanding of leadership, systems, and the human side of organizational life.

Today, through Esteemed Coaching & Consulting, I work with adults who are ready to engage deeply, reflect honestly, and translate insight into meaningful action. My coaching practice is separate from my nonprofit work and is focused on transformational, non-clinical coaching. I also support small business owners through consulting engagements, including strategic guidance in social media marketing, with an emphasis on building confidence, clarity, and long-term independence.

I’m based in Azusa, California, where I live with my husband and our dog. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren and relaxing with strategy games like Catan.
